The Management Committee and Staff are delighted to announce that Haselbury Pre-School has been ranked ‘Good’ by Ofsted across the board during their inspection held on 30th September 2016.  In particular, Ofsted commented on how well staff know individual children and how happy, confident and well mannered the children are.
  • ‘Children are happy, confident and feel valued.’
  • ‘Children have good self-esteem…and consistently show respect and kindness to others.’
  • ‘Staff use their thorough knowledge of individual children to plan and teach activities that focus very well on building their existing skills and extending them further.’
  • ‘All children, including those needing extra support, develop the skills they need to be ready for the next stage in their learning and are prepared well for going to school.’

Sue Turner, Pre-School Supervisor, commented that ‘the staff are delighted with the outcome’ and that she would like to ‘invite parents of 2,3 and 4 years olds looking for a pre-school place to come and visit.’

Haselbury Pre-School is holding an Open Morning on Tuesday 8th November from 9.30am to 12 noon, on the same day as Haselbury Plucknett CE VA First School.

Bridget Reader, Committee Chair, said that she was ‘thrilled to read the fantastic comments made in the Ofsted report.  It shows how hard the staff work and what a happy, caring and successful pre-school it is.’

Village Defibrillator

The grand opening

On Saturday 13 August around 120 Villagers and friends of Haselbury gathered at the village school for the official opening of the Phone Box Defibrillator. Parish Council Chairman Mark Keating spoke and then asked Marcus Fysh MP to kindly cut the ribbon. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a delicious cream tea sponsored by RODDAS in the hall.
